Black and White Beauty

The next project is a small four drawer antique dresser. This was a real antique- I don't think I've painted anything this old before. This dresser was a custom paint piece and she wanted to go for a french black and white look for her room. I went with ASCP Graphite. The knobs are the original and were painted white with Old White ASCP and covered with poly spray. The whole piece has been lightly hand sanded and clear waxed. The drawers have been lined with some crazy but fun black and white paper. I'm really in love with the color combination of black, white, and brown right now. Can't get enough of it. I couldn't help but stage it accordingly. I can see a living room makeover with these colors :)

  1. I really like this one - but what about a dark Wedgwood blue with a creamy (almost vanilla ice cream) next time? I'm doing a ceiling - yucky tiles from the 70's - do you think the chalk paint would work on them?

  2. I think as long as they didn't have tons of gross crud on them or really bad water stains. The white chalk paint tends to show some "bleed" when it comes to stains.

  3. You can always prime w/Zinsser oil base (the spray can works fab) if u r worried about bleed-through.
